……….“By the rude bridge that arched the flood, Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled, Here once the embattled farmers stood, And fired the shot heard round the world…….
……….Spirit, that made those heroes dare, To die, and leave their children free, Bid Time and Nature gently spare, The shaft we raise to them and thee.” – Concord Hymn, Emerson

Caring on from the home page, such civilization impulses draw not only on the celebrated heritage of Concord, Massachusetts (USA) — for many the heart and soul of our nation — but the impulses distinguish themselves in that:
i) Inspired by an enlightened common sense, we are committed to moving beyond the symptoms, outer symptoms, to address the very root of the problems-challenges–opportunities before us;
ii) Toward such an end, we are committed to “walking the talk,” to uniting the organizational form of the Center with its Concordian content. In such respects, our focus is not on the what alone (i.e. the work we are doing), but on the how and why (we are doing it). Lest, business as usual, we find ourselves part and parcel of the ongoing problem, as opposed to the long-awaited solution.
In this respect, the Center is committed to forging the new wine skins (vessels, organizational structures, and collaborative processes) for the New Wine: Life-Sustaining Substance, Concordian impulses. Such a “promise” brings us, friends, to the third distinguishing aspect of our work;
iii) Simply expressed, our labors are labors of love, redemptive love. For a reason . . . . Is there an alternative to love, realistically speaking? Apart, that is, from laboring under that age old curse: An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Divided, We, the People are conquered.
If these opening words speak to you, friends, we invite you to read on . . . . It will take a many a kindred spirit working together to inaugurate, bring to bear these Concordian, civilization impulses.
If an aspect of OUR work — research, publications, educational programs, or initiatives — strikes a resonant cord, we invite you to contact us (info@concord-ium.us), to lend a hand. Let us work together to create that future worth envisioning, for our children, grandchildren, and for the generations to come: All Our Relations.
